Care
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)
The Care Ministry at Gracepointe Church is designed to walk with those who are in a difficult season of life by ministering through the lens of the Gospel.

GriefShare
A GriefShare support group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. You’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability, and gain solid support each step of the way.
GP7
GP7 is a Christ-centered service ministry rooted in the call given to serve in Acts 6:1-3. The focus of the GP7 Ministry is to serve the widows, single moms, widowers, and elderly members of the Gracepointe Church family in practical ways, centered on home needs, home repairs, and other service opportunities.

Pathways Ministry
(1 Corinthians 12:7)
Our mission is to serve Jesus by serving others. Through the Pathways Ministry, we strive to be used by God to love and support those in need. We seek to live out the gospel through the ministry of presence by walking in love with those facing illness, life-altering news, sudden loss, or other unforeseen challenges.

MORE ABOUT PATHWAYS MINISTRY
Yes, there are in-person training sessions held twice a year.
Our goal is to meet people where they are in life, following the example set by Jesus Christ, and walking alongside them to lead them toward Him. By doing so, we aim to deepen our relationships with Christ and continue to make a transformative impact at Gracepointe Church and throughout the greater Denton area. As a result, we will witness growth both in the spiritual lives of our people as they serve, and in the overall vitality of our church.
We identify those in need through ongoing conversations, building relationships, and staying connected via phone calls or any form of communication where needs or opportunities are shared. It's through these interactions that we are able to recognize when someone is in need and respond accordingly.
This ministry begins with a referral to the Pathways Ministry, which will then reach out to the individual or family to start building a relationship. From there, we work to set up a time to meet and assess not only their specific needs but also how we can best support them. We also consider who would be the most suitable person or group to walk alongside them, taking into account their unique situation and dynamics.
Individuals or families who desire prayer before a surgery or important decision, those needing hospital visits, the elderly or shut-ins, or those who have received life-changing news. Pathways also supports people in various life circumstances where they’ve experienced significant challenges and have been equipped by God to walk alongside others facing similar paths. This ministry is designed to offer care, prayer, and support during pivotal moments in life, helping individuals feel seen, heard, and supported in their unique journeys.
The length of time someone is involved in Pathways depends on the specific situation. We walk together for as long as needed, offering ongoing support and guidance, and continuing to provide assistance as circumstances evolve. The goal is to meet people where they are and walk with them through their journey, adjusting support as necessary.
Yes, confidentiality is maintained unless there are extenuating circumstances that require disclosure. The Pathways team meets regularly to discuss the needs and progress of those they are supporting. Any concerns, opportunities, or significant changes are reported to the Senior Ministry Leadership to ensure proper care and oversight, while still respecting privacy as much as possible.
We are unable to help individuals who are unaware of this ministry or those who do not believe they need assistance and prefer to handle things on their own. Our goal is to support those who are open to receiving help and are willing to engage with the resources and community available through Pathways.
“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2)
